Best bennies in Vancouver! Another restaurant that started life as a food truck. Have it your way: on English muffin, lemon-truffled potatoes or skip the benny and go straight for chicken and waffles.

This location was Nick's Spaghetti House for 40 years: a real old-fashioned Italian-Canadian joint where they could have shot "Good Fellas." Nick retired and the team behind one of Vancouver's best Italian restaurants, Salvio Volpe, took over. There's still a nod to the Rat Pack and an etching of Nick above the bar. The food has gone slightly more upscale but is still comfort all the way. Don't have a reservation? Fuggetaboutit!

Red Wagon is famous for its breakfasts (appearing on Guy Fieri's "Diners and Dives," featuring Jack Daniels, pulled pork pancakes). Rain or shine, there's always a line! Then chef/owner, Brad Miller, opened Bistro Wagon Rouge, a casual French Bistro. The building for the original Red Wagon was slated for demolition, so Miller moved a couple of blocks west and combined the bistro dinners with breakfast/lunch. Nice little patio at the back. Still great food and cocktails now three meals a day. Brunch every day, dinner Wednesday - Sunday.
