Drinks & Nightlife

Bar sounds a bit low brow for a place with such good wine, snacks, spaces, music and people. Local wines and tapas. Wonderful inside and outside spaces. Start with happy hour and stay.

Parks & Nature

Toward the north end of Capitol Hill, you’ll find Volunteer Park. It’s the home for the Seattle Asian Art Museum, beautifully sited in an old Deco building, a wonderful Conservatory that is definitely worth the nominal entry fee. Make sure you climb the water tower for a wonderful view of downtown and the Olympics and a simple exhibit about the Olmstead Brothers who designed Central Park in New York and the Park System in Seattle. Before or after your park visit, stop at Volunteer Park Café (1501 17th Ave East) for great food and coffee!

Seattle Art Museum (SAM) operates the Olympic Sculpture Park at the north end of the downtown waterfront. Going north from the sculpture park is a nice walk along the water that starts at Myrtle Edwards Park and continues through some other parks and trails all the way to the cruise ship docks.
