Yu Garden is the oldest traditional Chinese gardens, complete with koi pond. They have loads on shops that sell everything from pearl necklaces to key chains. Watch out for the crowds though.

This is basically a collection of winding streets with small shops. You can get some good souvenirs inexpensively. First timers to Shanghai really enjoy it. There are 1 or 2 pretty good bars here as well.

This is line 13, you can take line 13 to west nanjing road, middle huaihai road, and xintiandi.
You can also interchange at line 7 to get to jingan temple, changshu road, or the maglev station to pudong airport.
