there's usually a wait on weekends, but reasonable on weekdays. A proper breakfast place with good spuds and eggs and baked goods and fruit. Alwys a good selection done well and it's the best closest place for breakfast.

The Berkeley Bowl is a collectively owned market that is superior to the chain markets like Safeway in every way. The produce selection is better, the y have both cheap options and the most up-to-date hipster versions of everything, plus the folks who work there are not exploited, friendly, co-owners. One of the true successes of the 60's era alternative economies that has versions around the country, usually in college towns - though few have achieved the commercial success and scale of the Berkeley Bowl. Plus it is the closest place for food shopping.
