Boyce Thompson Arboretum is the largest and oldest botanical garden in the state of Arizona. It is one of the oldest botanical institutions west of the Mississippi. Founded in 1924 as a desert plant research facility and “living museum”. It is beautiful and well worth a visit (and the location of our wedding!). There a couple of hiking trails around the park. It is located about 30 mins east of us.

Stunning drive to get there and stunning views of the canyon that the reservoir sits in. Great place to swim, boat, jet ski and kayak. Jet ski and kayak rentals are available. A MUST see! Located about 25 minutes away. Tortilla Flat restaurant is a few miles from the Canyon Lake Marina.
A beautiful lake to spend a lazy day, swimming, boating or kayaking. This lake takes about an hour to get to and about half of that is on an unpaved road. Because of this, this lake tends to be less busy than Canyon Lake. If you have the time, it is worth the drive, you won't be disappointed.

320 acre state park with hiking trails, named after the Lost Dutchman’s Gold mine. Trail head for the treasure loop trail and Flat Iron - the Flat Iron trail will take you to the top of Superstition Mountain.

They serve burgers, ribs, steaks etc. There is great ambiance and nicely decorated. Staff and owners are very friendly.

They serve burgers, ribs, steaks etc. There is great ambiance and nicely decorated. Staff and owners are very friendly.
