This chef is amazing and it's rated as one of the best restaurants in town; it's urban, food is european and asian, good price (average €18 for a meal). Can be noisy and crowded, do make reservations.

Amazing view over the harbour, high quality food for low pricing and a very sympathetic crew. Menu is a surprise and they serve uncommon but good wines. Best kept secret in town, HIGHLY recommended!

Indonesian food is part of Dutch history as well. Order a ' bordje' (a plate); a variety of different dishes and enjoy the Indonesian kitchen in this small and local restaurant.

Slow cooking, great tarte tatin, obviously you have to like couscous. The owner danses the tango. Good price.

Outdoor market - has it all, great place for grocery shopping or eating a hering. Seriously local (whereas the Albert Cuyp market also attracts tourists). Both are great, this one is smaller
