It's quite rare to find decent hot pastrami outside of the USA, but they do a good job of it at Street Food, as well as some tasty and imaginative burgers and pizzas. The venue is great and hosts concert evenings upstairs throughout the year (but closes for a month or so in the summer).

If you're looking for a nice, tasty curry, the Curry House is a great place to find it. With a wide range of dishes and a great lunchtime meal deal, it's a nice place to spice things up a little.

Located on the trendy Mikszáth Kálmán tér, Lumen is a bit of a chameleon. Serving great coffee and lite bites in the morning/afternoon, it transforms into a vibrant bar at night, often hosting small concerts and DJs.

Although the service can be a bit slow at times, Fecske still manages to pull in a good crowd. With plenty of outside seating and a good value, weekly changing lunch menu, it's a nice spot to eat at on a sunny afternoon. Especially if you have one of the tasty lemonades.

A lovely little tapas place. Great for a bottle of wine and some nibbles before you start your night. It gets busy so book in advance.

Simply great burgers. Nothing else on the menu except sides and drinks. But they do the burgers well. My favourite is the Marmite Burger mmmm.

If you have a sweet tooth you have to check this place out. It's what I imagine Willy Wonkas shop would be like. Great cakes and deserts of all sorts.

Budapest has become famous for it's ruin bars, and Szimpla is the original. With lots of space, several rooms and tons of interesting nick-naks everywhere you look, it's a great place to party. And if you're not too hungover on Sunday morning they have a great farmers market too.

This funky little bar is a locals hotspot with great drinks, barmen and atmosphere. It get very busy on the weekends as its only a small place.

This is a brewer owned bar where they serve a large range of craft beers on tap. Its well priced and does a decent and cheap Meleg Sandvich (Hot sandwich like a pannini).

This is probably one of the best designed museums I've ever been to. It details the hard past of Hungary under both the Nazi and Russian occupation. A real eye opener of how hard the Hungarian life was, all the way till the late 1980's

The central market hall in Budapest is great to visit. It's an amazing building dating back to the mid 1800's. It's worth going to grab some tasty bits and souvenirs.
