Most of our guests arrive by car, occasionally by bicycle, and a few by train which takes around 2 hours from Sydney.
The station is a $15 taxi ride from the cottage. There's usually a taxi waiting.

Sightseeing
Pulpit Rock lookout and bushwalk is a 20 minute walk away. You can expect fantastic views over much of the Grose Valley. See some of our photos .

Hat Hill is a short bushwalk that takes you to the top of Hat Hill. It offers 360 degree views from Mount Banks, the Grose Valley and on a clear day even as far as Sydney!

The Grand Canyon is a historic walk that wends its way though a deep and dark canyon. The walk takes around three hours, but you can cut it shorter. Take your camera - it's a great experience.

Also Wind Eroded Cave is just a few minutes away - it's best to visit them both together.

This is the lookout that is most easily accessible by car - you get to see the spectacular Grose River and Valley from the car park.
The NPWS visitor centre is also located there.

A longer day walk is down into the Grose Valley to visit the magnificent Blue Gum Forest. Hat Hill Cottage is probably the best possible place to start your trip.

This is one of the best coffee shops in the Blue Mountains - a big breakfast, just a coffee, lunch or anything else - they will be happy to serve it up.

There are two takeaway pizza places in Blackheath - we think Pizza Delish just wins - friendly staff, great selection... arrive a couple of minutes before they say - they under promise & over deliver!
