Definitely a must, with paid guided tour for faster. This museum owns the largest collection of huge original pieces taken from Mexico pre-hispanic cities. Dont take to long in the first 3 rooms, the exhibition is huge.
You can also watch “voladores de Papantla” dancing in the air hanguing from their toes in the sky, they are in front, outside the museum.

Gran Hotel Ciudad de México, glass colorfull sealings is a must ot see, James Bond movie was filmed there.
Then walk straight to zocalo and get in to catedral and prehispanic museums around, go back to have a refresher in to downtown Hotel rooftop or Azul histórico to grab lunch or dinner. There are also a lot of boutique hotels with rooftops for drinks or snacks. Or you can also skip rooftops and go to eat to “lugar sin nombre” is next to Bósforo bar, next door to the right, they have prehispanic food and best hand made tortillas.
You can have some mezcales in Bósforo bar after, with their big selection of mezcales produced in little towns around the country, if you are lucky you will meet the owner playing 70’s phsycodelic music taken from vinilos.

3000 Av. Insurgentes SurIt is far but it’s worth. This place always surprises me with it’s crazy contemporary art exhibitions. Also the architecture of the museum is very cool it was made by a Top Mexican Architect, Teodoro Gonzalez de León.
Get in to a crazy place full of modernist sculptures after going to MUAC, check out the opening hours, and take yourself some cool pictures, it is not always open.
