Simple artisanal food there's Ma'am Bolduc, (locals LOVE this place!) good poutine, a few blocs South DeLorimier; go there for early lunch and put on some carbs before continuing down DeLorimier on your way to Parc Lafontaine

It's easily one of the best Poutine places: a couple other locations in town; check the website. MUCH better than Banquise.

FANTASTIC beer and whiskey experience in the Old Port! Guillaume the owner has put together an amazing whiskey selection and a great lineup of select unique beers. a terrace at the back makes tis pace a great spot after checking out the Old Port. Awesome pub food too!

i just love this place! no pretention, nothing complicated. don't be a prick, tip the staff, have a good night at a local institution. in summer the terrace in the back is great; take the time to walk around to see the GREAT graffiti from Under Pressure festivals of years past (and maybe you're.licky enough to be there to see the latest one live!). very bike friendly in the heart of the red light district.

i don't know what corporate PR team got it's grubby hands on the sign and what they're calling it now, but this place is still one of the greatest concert venues in town.

MUCH bigger, at the heart of the city; just go west on Mont-Royal for about 2 miles and yo can't miss it. weekends are especially lively with younger crowds congregating around the George-Étienne Cartier monument you arrive at pretty much following mount Royal, then left up Parc street; it's called the Tam Tams and is a bit on the beatnik side but still pretty interesting to see; you can enter the park by following the path and let it walk you up the mountain.
