New Pi is the coolest!! We love this place- higher price point, as it's a food co-op, but definitely worth it. Everything is always fresh and often, hyper-local.

Artifacts is like a great consignment + home decor + garage sale + furniture shop + art room all rolled into one. We never leave here without 2 or 3 fantastic finds- everything from old ceramics and antique toys, to wild rugs and artwork.

The Ped Mall is an open, walkable area in the center of downtown Iowa City, featuring several bars, restaurants, boutiques, the public library, a playground and a great fountain. It's a lovely place to wander around. Check out the local businesses, or just spend a day reading on one of their hand-painted public benches.
