Museum for modern and contemporary visual art and design. One of my favourites. Especially for the modern architecture. Local people call it the "badkuip" (bathtub).

This bar and restaurant (don't go for the food, but their drinks are cold) is the perfect place to hang out on a hot day with the rest of Amsterdam. It's located near the water and gives you a view over a canal and old Amsterdam houses.

Chill out at this tropical bar underneath a spiraling parking lot and get yourself a cold drink (or food if you prefer). It's inspired by Paramaribo - Surinam. They have the biggest waterfront sun terrace in the center. So it's packed on hot days, but the atmosphere is always great! On weekend days they take out the furniture so you can dance to the music.

'The Woman with the Beard'. The name itself already made me curious. I must admit I only had cocktails, but my friends had dinner and they absolutely loved it. So still on my own wishlist... They describe their menu as "soul food from Brooklyn to Bali".

With it's vintage interior you feel like you've been send back to the 60's. The food is good. They have a small brewery so they serve their own beers. Next to it is a lawn where you can hang out on hot days and have a dip in the water.
