Our land has lots to explore with over a mile of trails - dozens of bird species, wild blackberries, trout, mushrooms, and a garden you are welcome to pick from. There's lots more within an hour's drive or less. Here is a sampling.

The closest of many dramatic waterfalls in the area. It is publicly accessible, a ten-minute walk from a parking area and about a mile above Skaneateles Lake.

An exceptional land form with woodsy hiking trails about 30 minutes from the house. One trail along stone outcroppings traces the outline of a glacial plunge basin lake some 200 feet below you.

A mile of rocky shoreline along Lake Ontario, less than an hour from the house. Hiking trails, with one that brings you to a big heron rookery, which has a prehistoric, Dr. Seuss-like feel to it. The Nature Center is just a mile from the Sterling Renaissance Festival, and is a great place to cool off.
