If you're heading to Franschhoek for a day trip of wine tasting, do book lunch at Foliage. The portions are generous, the food insanely good (the chef, Chris Erasmus, forages his own mushrooms, makes his own beer and is the most fabulous genius). This is gourmet-bistro style eating and they have an excellent wine menu too.

Really good coffee and chilled vibes. A cool little breakfast spot that also offers fresh juices. Amy often stops here for a coffee on her way to work.

Go hungry, because you'll want to eat every pastry in sight! Jason is a legendary baker with great coffee. It's also popular with the cycling crowd! Look out for Saturday's limited special baked goodies of the day.

You will everything from coffee and smoothies to raw vegan desserts and big breakfast fry-ups. No alcohol though. Until 2pm on Saturdays.
Our fave burger bar and they often have great specials, so remember to ask! We love them because they have a really great approach to sourcing excellent free-range, organic, high-quality ingredients and they have great vegan options too. Plus craft beer and wine.

Super easy sipping and the perfect place to wind down the weekend. Oh! And on Wednesday night they have a 2 for 1 lamb burger special - they are really good and it's an excellent option for a budget-conscious traveller.

This is our favorite bar for after-work drinks and olives. It's hipster, grungy, biker, but with incredible coffee and craft beer and they pride themselves on making the best Old Fashioned in the city! They also have cool live music nearly every night of the week.

If you want incredible views of the city and ocean, go to The Vue. It's great for late afternoon and evening drinks and they have fantastic olives (we olives!) and a good wine list. They also have a DJ starting at 5pm every day.
