Glasgow has a wonderful gothic cathederal, situated on the edge of the old city boundary. It's next to "The Necropolis", a very dramatic cemetary, similar in feel to Pere Lachaise.

This is a new bar/restaurant near Glasgow Cathedral, a 10/15 minute walk away, where you can sample some 200 beers among other refreshments. It's huge, and has an outdoor space for the sunny days ;-)
