Really good, proper local pub which also serves great food. There's a varied menu with different daily specials. Loads of different beers. Two beer gardens, one overlooks a beautiful meadow and river. Cosy with real fires. Good menu with vegan options.

Superb quality artisan bakery. Good bread and delicious snacks and light meals. The tofu sandwich is superb.

Lake Windermere is England's biggest lake and it's really stunning. We are about 5 miles from Windermere which is the cutest little town with great shopping and food. Travel further down the lake a mile or two to Bowness which has the feel of a cosmopolitan, lively city even though it's also a small place. You can take the ferry across the lake, you can keep on walking, or you can just sit and watch the world go by!

Europe's biggest cycle store apparently! You can buy bikes here and also rent them. We are so close to amazing biking trails so if you can, factor this bad boy in!
