Because it's a block from your bed. Because it's the 2017 Bon Appetit Best New Restaurant of the Year. Because they will smile at you when they take your order, and you will smile when you eat it. It's a great little sandwich restaurant not full of itself.

It looks like it's about to fall down. Don't let this deter you. The debris fries are something that must be experienced.. no matter what diet you think you are on. Walk through the door and down the steps into the adjacent bar to get a cold beer or a mixed drink in a plastic cup.

Get there a little early if you want to beat the line on the weekend. Otherwise it moves pretty quick and there is a small courtyard in the back too.

Stein's is a Deli. A place to get bagels and NY style sandwiches like Reuben, or the Rachel. It also has an excellent selection of beer from all over the world. And the every ornery Dan Stein, who will probably be behind the cash register.

Gris-Gris is the best new restaurant this year so far in my opinion. Everything they are doing is very tasty and it isn't pretentious at all.

Isaac Toups is a friendly genius, as is his sous chef Seamus. Sit at the bar and watch them work at this beautiful restaurant. The food is delicious!
