This place is cute, always clean, usually busy because of the delicious Japanese hot pot, where you add your ingredients to the mini cauldron cooking on your table - fun! Veggies, proteins, noodles!

Great Vietnamese place, family friendly, high quality food, not overly priced. The chicken wings are like chicken crack, irresistable. The pho broth is really really good, pho soup is healthy too!

Japanese Sushi: I almost don't want to tell you about this one, because it is my favorite sushi place in the entire city, a big clue. My friends come eat here from the Mission, and not bc I am here!

Thai - one of the best in the city, and I am not bragging for my 'hood - if you are lucky, Marnee herself might be there and have a chat with you - she reads people very well. The food is guaranteed!

Absolute must have infamous and crazy busy because of their "dry fried" chicken wings - order with a side of rice and enjoy carmelized spicy juicy chicken goodness. The lines are crazy so either get there early or order ahead for pickup.

Bomb diggety pecan rolls, muffins and scones for breakfast, beautiful loaves of bread, and insanely good warm focaccias with all sorts of toppings for lunch! Be prepared for a line but they have a cute parklet right outside.

One of the original hipster bakeries, producing upscale, quality breads, pastries and simple meals for an equivalent price. Their food is quite good, if on the expensive side, and their wonderfully filling bread will last for days.

Great taco sports bar with quality food and lots of beer options. It can get a little loud, but you can ask them to put a specific game on a telly near you and they will, no sound but you can watch!

The sweetest garden in San Francisco is just a 10 minute walk away - quiet waters, quaint bridges and pagodas, and zen pebble gardens wait, with an option to have tea at the small cafe as well.

Fantastic art museum with consistently interesting and changing exhibitions, again 10 minutes walk. Their gift shop makes bringing home souvenirs for family so easy! And you must go up to the tower to see the view of the park and city from the top.

A walk in the city that feels like you are visiting all green parts of the hemisphere at the same time. Spacious, with ponds and a primeval garden, beautiful for picnics, and be sure to check out the plant shop.

The Conservatory of Flowers is a gigantic greenhouse of exotic plants in Golden Gate Park. It was built in 1878 and survived the 1906 Earthquake. After being damaged by storms in 1996, the Conservatory was taken apart piece by piece and restored using old growth redwood that had fallen or had been left behind by loggers. With a Hall of Flowers inside, stunning green ramparts of flowers and grass outside, and a Dahlia garden that will take your breath away when in season, the Conservatory is a favorite place for San Franciscans to picnic and enjoy the sun.

Bicycling fun in SF

I love bicycling around San Francisco, its a wonderful way to see the city as long as you have a map of the less hilly bike routes, are careful and have a helmet. (A word of advice: electric bikes make it so easy, and while you will get some snobby looks from the purists, you will see a LOT more with one day's rental day.)
