A very good restaurant at your doorstep. Its very nice to sit outside. It offers a mixture of traditional, down-to-earth cuisine and Mediterranean variety. It's a bit more expensive but still okay. Main course with meat between 20-25€.

Also a very good restaurant, which scores above all by the beautiful furnishing and much entertainment. Through the large windows you can watch the colourful hustle and bustle at Ostkreuz without having to take part in it yourself. The food is always different and is served in small portions like tapas style. Prices are a little higher, about 25€ per person to get full ;)

Boxhagener Platz is the lively, bustling centre of Friedrichshain and at the same time a market (Saturday) and a flea market (Sunday). Around the square you will find countless cafés, bars and restaurants. Especially if you want to eat something cheaper, take a look at Krossner Straße: There you find e.g. burgers, falafel, Vietnamese and Indian food.

Parks & Nature

With its unique mix of river landscape, extensive meadows, tranquil areas, gardens, and places to eat and drink this is the perfect spot for a nice walk or a afternoon in the sun. You can also rent a pedal boat and take ride on the Spree. The Soviet Memorial for fallen Red Army soldiers in the middle of the park is also quite impressive. Just take the SBahn from Frankfurter Allee two stations to Treptower Park.

Drinks & Nightlife

The Szimpla is an all-rounder: Beautiful bar with craftbeer and warm food or a nice café for brunch directly on Boxhagener Platz. Prices are fair. The good news: You will always find a seat. The bad news: Sometimes the service is a little messy.

One of the most beautiful clubs in Berlin, which also has a beautiful outdoor area with open airs during the day in summer. If you want to discover Berlin club life and great music, this is the perfect place. But remember, Saturday night, the line can be very long. Better go out for a beer on Saturday or Sunday afternoon and then slowly glide into the evening.

I don't really have to introduce this club: The most famous club of Berlin always with a great Lineup of international (star) Djs. However, there will be a long line and it's not so easy to get in. But actually worth seeing.

Next to Katerblau is the "Holzmarkt" where you find two bars, some food trucks and a pâtisserie. I like this place a lot since you can sit at the edge of the Spree and enjoy the water and sun with a drink.

This is the smallest, cosiest neighbourhood cinema you can imagine. The cinemas are improvised like small living rooms. It's all a bit run down, but it's very charming. Here runs almost no blockbuster but art house cinema.

Kino International opened two years after the Wall was built and has always been an avant-garde and a favourite of filmmakers. It is still one of the most important premiere cinemas in Berlin and has been the annual venue of the Berlinale. The cinema is legendary thanks to its elegant 60s interior and the "Panorama" bar with its view of East Berlin's former boulevard.
