This is a must see. This huge castle is by the Bosphorus, and wonderful. Make sure to check that you do not go there on the days it is closed. From there you can go to Emirgan Korusu (Forest).

Interesting historical tower within the sea with wonderful view of the Bosphorus Bridge with restaurant inside. With Marmaray you can go there just in twenty minutes although it is in the Asian side.

Especially if you are in Istanbul in spring, check for the timing of tulip festival. So, the day you plan to visit Dolmabahçe Palace, you can extend your trip northwards by Bosphorus to come here.

A large park by sea. I have always enjoyed having breakfast on the hill. From there you can walk in 1 hour by the sea to Küçükçekmece Gölü (Lake), walk by the lake to "Belediye Tesisi" for lunch.
