Another close convenience store. You can find groceries and cold drinks at convenience store prices. But there when you need it and open 24 hours. Also you may find a boa or costume or something to mask it as this place was a Mardi Gras novelties place pre-Katrina.

This place is a gem. The proprietor Sylvestor Francis collected discarded one of a kind, hand sewn and beaded suits made by member of New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian tribes. In homage to Native Americans, early African American New Orleanians masked "Indian" and paraded in the streets. Still do. You can find out more about them at the museum and on wwoz.org.

Parks & Nature
Crescent Park is a great place to catch a glimpse of the mighty Mississippi River. Close to the house, you can enter at N. Peters and Marigny Street. Great route for running (about a mile end to end). You can take the rusty rainbow bridge in Bywater to descend close to Pizza Delicious for a slice or else the end at the end of Bywater will take you close to Bacchanal Wines, a great wine-shop/restaurant/music venue. For longer walks/runs, you can join up with the Moon Walk on the riverfront of the French Quarter and head all the way to Canal Street at the Aquarium of the Americas.
