200 N Bridge StNederland’s Carousel of Happiness- nonprofit Carousel of Happiness is a magical menagerie featuring 56 whimsical, hand-carved animals on a restored 1910 Looff carousel, turning to the music of a 1913 Wurlitzer band organ. Also: has an upstairs observation window (great for watching the 100-year-old gears churn), a puppet theater (housed in a restored band organ facade), and a story booth for recording the stories the Carousel of Happiness inspires you to share.

Magnolia Road has been written up in Outdoor Magazine, Runner's Magazines, Mountain Biking literature. It's a mecca for anything outdoors. It's also less than a half mile from the cabin by car, or just hike/bike there on the trails behind the cabin. It has waterfalls, streams, lakes, views of the continental divide. Caln't go wrong anywhere on Magnolia Road.
The Indian Peaks wilderness offers a rugged wilderness experience of jagged windswept peaks, alpine tundra, and a small glacier all within a few minutes driving distance to Ponderosa Pine Mountain Cabin. The Indian Peaks are one of the most visited wilderness areas in the United States. Backpackers, mountain biking and day hikers frequent here from all over the country.

Great coffee and tea choices. Wifi, and weekends promise live outdoor music. There is indoor and outdoor seating, corn hole games are popular and the mini homemade donuts will knock your socks off! This caboose was built in 1910 for the Colorado & Southern Railroad, originally car number 242. It is among the last cabooses to feature an all wooden curved ceiling—the end of an era, as later models had flat ceilings. The Pullman Coach was built for the Colorado and Southern Railroad and ran exclusively for them as car number 544 until its retirement. Constructed in 1905, inlaid stain glass windows, it was one of the last plush wooden coaches and served as a chair car.

What's not to love about great coffee, ice cream after a rigorous bike ride, live music over fish taco's, and ohhh so comfy chairs to loose yourself in over a classic novel?

I went the 2 week it was open, the was live music (impromptu) on Thursday night with 8 different string musicians playing blues, outdoor seating, great food and great fun. Generous drink selection, and easy going atmosphere.
Best made-to-order deli hands down. Sit out on the back deck and over look the river and the community garden. Why else go? Because the owner is not just a business man, but he cares about people who are struggling to make ends meet, and can't afford a good meal. One night a week he feeds all for free, and those of us who can afford to pay you have the option to leave a good will offering. Who does that? Only in Ned. We love this place. They pack a killer lunch to-go for hitting the trails.

They have a book the size of a Websters Dictionary of tea from around the world, but the atmosphere is like stepping out of the U.S. and in to Japan. The thousands of pieces of mosaic, koi pond/fountain, and yes, decadent food. It's Boulder's number one restaurant and we highly recommend a reservation.

The Logical Fallacy is superb, I could drink it as my only beverage until the end of days. Steffie's Heffe is a very balanced beer and Monk's Phunk knocks it out of the park. Stop in for a pint. Reward yourself.

If you are a rock and roll buff, go here to see who came to this area to record their music (Caribou Ranch), and then came to the Pioneer Inn to eat and drink, AND sign their names to the hundred year old bar. Check out their pictures, and signatures. This is a place not to be missed if you liked Crosby, Stills, Nash, Elton John, Three Dog Night... the list is endless.
