Sightseeing
Just a few minutes from the house, you can get to the trailhead for this fantastic mountain. If you only have a hour or so to take a morning walk or an afternoon hike to the peak with gorgeious mountain and lake views on all sides, you would want to go there.

Go there in the fall for a walk through the apple orchard with distance views, get a bag of fresh apples and an apple pie that is freshly out of the oven (weekends only). You will want to grab the pie right after store opens at 9am before you head to the trails because they sell out quickly. In the winter, the fields become a winter wonderland with a network of cross country skiing trails.

In the winter, the fields become a winter wonderland with a network of cross country skiing trails.

The lovely park is just steps away from the house on the other side of the bridge. Sitting on a slope with picnic tables and grills, the park offers a pleasant view of the river. It is also a trailhead for walks, ATV or snowmobile runs on the ITS (International Trail System) #89.

Farmers Market happens Saturdays when in season. Bus departs three times a day on weekdays and on Saturdays in warmer months. For $3, you can take the bus all the way to Downtown Portland or get off in towns in-between.
