An absolute MUST. Gourmet market cum uber scene-y LA lunchtime hot spot. Their tuna sandwich is out of this world and the baked goods are to die for. Gelato and specialty cheeses too!

Bizarre attraction of ancient tarpits (still in existence) where many prehistoric species have been excavated. Very cool museum attached. Right next to LACMA.

I would recommend the Getty over LACMA but it's still worth checking out, especially the new buildings designed by Renzo Piano.
