Carisbrooke Castle is a historic castle with a museum which is run by English Heritage. There is a cafe inside and a beautiful walk around the outside with great views of the countryside. It is not far from Newport. 15 mins by car from my home

Fun for kids
Robin Hill is a lovely country park with peacocks and hunting birds talks. There are rides, slides and treetops adventures for the kids. Admission fee is quite expensive but you can return free for 7 days with your ticket
