Take in everything that the Smoky Mountains has to offer on this is easy 2.6-mile hike to Laurel Falls. As you make your way to the falls you’re encompassed by the breathtaking geological formations. The paved hiking trail to the falls is the perfect starter trail for families with smaller children. Although paved, it is still wise to wear hiking shoes and avoid bringing strollers.

Cades Cove Campground
10042 Campground DrAlthough Abrams Falls is only 20 feet high, the large volume of water rushing over falls more than makes up for its lack of height. The long, deep pool at its base is very picturesque. The waterfall and creek are named for a Cherokee chief whose village once stood several miles downstream.
The trail to the falls traverses pine-oak forest on the ridges and hemlock and rhododendron forest along the creek. The hike is 5 miles roundtrip and considered moderate in difficulty.

Mt Leconte trail is a great hike. It is a full day hike and you will want to start by 8am. 5 miles up and 5 miles back. I’d say this is an extreme trail if you are not a usual hiker.

Rich Mountain Road offers an alternative way to leave Cades Cove if you want to take a break from the traffic. It’s a one-way, 7-mile journey on a twisting gravel road that leads north out of Cades Cove and ends in the town of Townsend. The road winds through quiet forest that often features excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and nature photography.

Stop in to get a tall ice cream cone! They also have amazing fries! The line might seem long but they move it pretty quickly. Order your food and the ice cream at the same time and you can come back to the cold window when you are ready for them to make your ice cream. Don’t wait in the line twice.

This place is really cool! You order when you walk in so it is super quick. They have great seating inside and outside and they also just added a playground for the kids.

The peddler is a special place. They have the best salad bar I have ever tasted in the world! The picketed okra on the salad bar is my favorite. The steaks are great, and the twice baked potato side is a must. Enjoy

Best spot for homemade southern cooking in the area. Family style and about $25 per person. But that includes the blackberry cobbler with ice cream yummy dessert! But beware, this is a very popular place so I would suggest going here for lunch or an early 430pm dinner.

What a great time! Tubing down the little river is very relaxing. This is not a major rapids deal. This is more like a lazy river. Sit back and relax.
