Its main purpose is the protection of birds and, due to its location, it is a good place for birdwatching. In the Douro Estuary have been registered over a hundred bird species.
Get up early, watch and photograph the reserve flora and fauna, highlighting the wild and migratory birds.
São Paio bay attracts birdwatchers and nature photographers. On the first Sunday of each month, there is usually watching wild birds activities on site. Just show up and join the guides.

"Flor do Gás" connects Afurada, Vila Nova de Gaia, (where are several simple restaurants, with good options for local dishes, mainly fish related) to Lordelo do Ouro (Porto).
This boat trip takes 2 minutes and it crosses the Douro River every 15 minutes, enabling you to enjoy the Arrábida Bridge and also where the river flows into the Atlantic sea from a different perspective.
Strongly recommend specially on sunny days.
