The Phoenix is a great spot for food, drinks and amazing music! Their Jazz Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10-2 is a must. It's adults only in the evenings, but we take our own kids for brunch and they love it. They serve food late on Fridays and Saturdays. The fried chicken is a favorite of ours!

Groceries
Cosentino's Market is located in the Power and Light District. It's an easy ride over on the streetcar, or they have a parking garage attached and will validate parking for you. Their deli and bakery are particularly good.

Our City Market is only a short 5 minute walk. There are vendors that are there every day of the week, but the large market is every Saturday and Sunday from 8-3 during the season.

Fine Dining
Farina is by far our most favorite restaurant. It can be tough to get a reservation, but try to call ahead the night of and see if they might be able to work you in or get you in at the bar if your group is smaller. Michael and Nancy Smith are the most gracious hosts and they have created the ultimate dining experience in their restaurant. The service, atmosphere, food and wine are the absolute best! I tell everyone I know to go there!

Farina

While most of the other places in town are paper plate/napkin style places (which are delicious!), Jack Stack is definitely one of the best restaurants in town. Their location in the Freight House District near Union Station is a great spot in KC. There are beautiful city views along with views of Union Station and the trains coming through the city.
If you're wanting to stay in and order carry out, they do a great job with to-go and catering. If I am hosting dinner downtown for a group, this is my go-to! I've had them help us with several parties and they have it down to a science. It's always on time and the food is delicious.

101 W 22nd StJack Stack is KC's "restaurant style" BBQ. While most of the other places in town are paper plate/napkin style places (which are delicious!), Jack Stack is definitely one of the best restaurants in town. Their location in the Freight House District near Union Station is a great spot in KC. There are beautiful city views along with views of Union Station and the trains coming through the city.
