Sightseeing

Coaley Peak has a stunning vista, overlooking the Severn Valley and reaching to the Welsh Black Mountains and Brecon Beacon in the distance. Great for a picnic, but wonderfully romantic to watch the sunset and for yoga for the early risers.

The common is a national trust site which sits on top of the Cotswold escarpment. It is an important archaeological site, with prehistoric field systems, burial mounds, defensive earthworks known as the bulwarks. It is now populated my a few hundred cows, all different types, from May to October time. It is great to see the cows, golfers (range is open to all), walkers, families, horse riders, photographers, kite fliers - all making use of the common. Sitting closeby is The Lodge and half way house cafe and bar. The village of Minchinhampton has a pub, cafe, charity shops, butchers and a few other shops and services. It’s definitely worth a walk around.

Place of my birth, this little town is the heart of the Cotswolds and it has many shops, restaurants and a beautiful parish church to visit. A lovely walk around town and it’s on the flat, so not at all arduous.

It's where they filmed some of the Poldark series, a really beautiful old Elizabethan house and very pretty gardens. The house is open to the public, but is occupied by the current family and you'll need to check when it is open. The Wild Carrot Cafe at the back of the house is super popular with cyclists.

Sporting venue

The only vegan team in the league, all people coming to watch the games are welcome to come and stay and make a weekend of it . I am about .25 of a mile from the gates of this hallowed ground.

Транспорт

Bath, Bristol, Gloucester, Cheltenham - distances/access

By Car (approx) - all easily accessible in less than an hour. Gloucester is about 20 mins, Cheltenham 30 mins, Bath and Bristol 45 mins. By Buses - the rural services are not that great and I would not rely upon them. By Rail - there is a good service from Stroud to Gloucester and Cheltenham. If going to Bristol there is a good service from Cam & Dursley and Bath you’ll need to go to Swindon and change. All the rail options are likely to take an hour at least.
