Old Silver Beach is on the western shores of Falmouth and offers a spectacular view of Buzzards Bay. The warm water, soft sand, and small waves make it perfect for families with young children. There is a seasonal food stand, but parking is limited, so you might want to aim for an early arrival!

overlooking Buzzards Bay is Chapoquoit Beach. More family-friendly waters can be found here, as well as fine white sand that is perfect for sand castle building! When the tide goes out, youngsters (and adults!) may enjoy exploring the many sand bars and tidepools.

If quiet beaches are more your scene, then be sure to visit Menauhant Beach, which is long and narrow and overlooks Vineyard Sound. There is lots of room here, as it’s barely ever crowded.
