Highest incorporated town in Colorado. It contains 17,452 mining sites, mostly placer mines. 2 miles outside of Alma is the remains of the defunct Orphan Boy mine (founded in 1861) which produced gold, silver, lead and zinc. Gold Rush was also filmed right outside of the own of Alma.
