Good breakfast food. Kids at heart like it as it has an old car in the middle which if your lucky enough with timing can sit in it to eat. 5 minute drive from Western Road.
The saloon side has live music and sometimes is a piano bar on some nights during dinner.

Has a pond in the centre with live birds and turtles. Great friendly atmosphere with overhead heaters at tables. Must make reservations. It’s approx 15 minutes in the town of Cave Creek from Western Road.

Great Mexican restaurant. A sister to the one in Cave Creek but this is off Carefree and just down the road from Western Road.

This place has more of a Scottsdale feel. Awesome variety of gourmet food and beverages. Their Bang Bang Shrimp and Coconut Chicken are two of the favourites. It’s a neighbourhood bar but with a classy touch that gives you a whole different atmosphere from the little town. Bar seating, high tops and an outdoor patio. It has it all. A great meeting place.

It’s a neighbourhood bar but with a classy touch that gives you a whole different atmosphere from the little town. Bar seating, high tops and an outdoor patio. It has it all. A great meeting place.
If you like Italian and Dean Martin, you will love Oreganos. Love the music and the decor. They have a friendly bar area if your into socializing or get seated table side. Most places have patios and this is no different. Look around before you order. The plate sizes are huge.

Hard to pick food or historic sight seeing. The Wagon Wheel is both. A reasonable breakfast spot that has not changed in years. Read some of the history of old western movies filmed here. It’s rustic but sometimes things don’t need to change. That’s what makes this an interesting stop. A great value as well.

Read some of the history of old western movies filmed here. It’s rustic but sometimes things don’t need to change. That’s what makes this an interesting stop. A great value as well.

7033 E Cave Creek RdThis restaurant has the best views in Cave Creek. Overlook the mountains and over see the shopping / eatery district of Stage Coach Village. I recommend the Coconut Shrimp with an amazing candied honey sauce. Sometimes they even have a great band to add to the atmosphere.
Can’t go wrong. All types of atmosphere. From the  circular wrap round bar inside to lovely seating inside and out to enjoy a steak dinner. There is also a roof top patio.

Live Bull-riding two nights a week. Outdoor eating and fire pits. Live music and a great place for kids on the nights when they have bull riding and brisket.

If you blink you will find you have driven through Cave Creek and are now entering Carefree. Full of little shops and cafes. Carefree has a whole different feel then Cave Creek. Enjoy strolling the streets during many an art walk.

Enjoy a horse back ride weaving around the cactus 🌵 ionCave Creek recreational park. Some of the flora is marked so you are learning about the desert as you  enjoy your ride. If you choose and are not afraid of reptiles after your ride, you can go up the hill and learn about snakes and lizards from the safety under Glass.

If you choose and are not afraid of reptiles after your ride, you can go up the hill and learn about snakes and lizards from the safety under Glass.

If your looking for water in the desert. Take the short drive to the lake. Gather some friends and rent a pontoon boat or just walk the board walk to the marina restaurant. There are two sides to see but my favourite is the second road in. You do need to pay a little at the gate but it’s worth the drive to see wild Donkeys
roam around the hills surrounding the lake.
