Great for coffee on the beach or a wine or evening drinks. We do no longer recommend 'The Box' for lunch or dinner after our last experiences. But still a nice place to enjoy the views with a drink. Reachable via cycleway along the water or by car.

Its a nice llitle drive from our place to Patonga through the National Park. Good for a really casual pleasant ambience on a sleepy weekend afternoon for lunch. Sometimes Live Music. Near nature and opposite the water.

Sightseeing
Fantastic views and great walking beach at low tide. For a brilliant day long sightseeing tour cycle from our place at Woy Woy along the cycleway to Ettalong Beach, tie up the bike and have a morning coffee at 'The Box' on the Water. Then walk along Umina Beach to the end and on the 'old gravel road' ' around the corner to spectacular Pearl Beach.

Then walk along Umina Beach to the end and on the 'old gravel road' ' around the corner to spectacular Pearl Beach.
Great overview of the area from Patonga Drive. Continue to the water tower (turn left up the bush track before you reach Pearl Beach Drive) for a lovely small bush walk amongst big old knarled Sydney Redgums with views overlooking Pearl Beach, Lion Island, Palm Beach and the National Park on the rocky outcrops.

Continue to the water tower (turn left up the bush track before you reach Pearl Beach Drive) for a lovely small bush walk amongst big old knarled Sydney Redgums with views overlooking Pearl Beach, Lion Island, Palm Beach and the National Park on the rocky outcrops.

Kayak from Woy Woy around the corner to Waterfall Bay within Woy Woy Bay National Park, but it can be a bit breezy on the way back in the afternoon when the North/Easterly is blowing into your face. Take your mobile to call for help, Marine Rescue Central Coast (02) 4325 7929

Pelican Island has the closest pelican breeding colony to Sydney. You can view them from the waterfront cycleway by taking a short 10 minute stroll from our place with binoculars. Alternatively you can circumnavigate the island with a kayak but are not allowed to land on the island. In the springtime you can see the baby pelicans. They are very cute. They are large, fluffy, have short wings and beaks and fall over a lot whilst trying to walk.
