Subsequently dedicated to Eustorgio of Milan, it was built in the late Imperial Roman period in the period in which the Roman city of Mediolanum (modern Milan) was the capital of the Western Roman Empire (a role it held from 286 to 402). It is one of the early Christian basilicas of Milan.

Together with Via della Spiga, are the top streets for shopping. There are the most exclusive shops there, very expensive, but they are worth a visit even if you don't have intention to buy anything!
