You can't go to Venice without going to the Venice Fishing Pier and walking the Venice Boardwalk. Street entertainment, tons of shops, restaurants, Muscle Beach, local artists selling their creations, etc.

Must do's in Venice are the Boardwalk, the Pier, and Abbot Kinney Blvd. (you can walk there from your place in about 20 minutes).
Shopping, food, drinks.
On Lincoln Blvd., there are lots of great restaurants, and that's where you'll want to go for groceries and every day needs.
Head to Santa Monica for more shopping, restaurants, and spend some time at the Santa Monica Pier.
