Make if a point to walk across the Walnut Street Bridge to the Northshore area and visit Coolidge Park. You will find several rental shops offering kayaks and Stand up Boards available to rent for the river. For a nice workout, paddle upstream and make a loop around Maclellan Island Nature Preserve.

Another favorite date night spot, in fact, the site or our first date. We love their Fusilli with a spice pack added but their fresh baked bread with whole roasted garlic dipped in olive oil and is the bomb!

This place is even further out in the country than we are at the base of Pigeon Mountain, but still only a 15 minute drive from HPH. Great BBQ, burgers and live bluegrass music on the weekends (check your local listings).
