A bit of a drive, but worth it for the raw Texas hill country nature. For the true intrepid hiker, I recommend the Bauer unit of this park (do not follow google maps if you go to the Bauer unit)

The tour is nice and is open during the day, but the night lighting is beautiful, so even dropping by at nice is night.
