If you enjoy hiking and would like to see alligators, birds and other wildlife, we strongly recommend this park. It's a 45 minute to one hour drive, but it's well worth it!

Food scene
Bistro 555 is an outstanding little French restaurant with amazing food. And it's just down the street! There is limited outdoor seating - it's a very small restaurant.

If you enjoy Mediterranean food, Fadi's is a MUST! A little hint - ask for half orders, so you can try lots of food varieties for a very reasonable cost. Also, try their mango juice! Unfortunately there is no outdoor seating though.

If you love breakfast, be sure and try kolache's from the Kolache Factory! Very quick, tasty and filling!! And get one of their cinnamon rolls and a cup of coffee while you're at it!

Citi Centre is an upscale shopping and restaurant community, just down the road. There are lots of excellent restaurants and many shops that are fun to visit.

Now if you really want the shopping that Houston is famous for, you need to checkout The Galleria. Lots of upscale stores and great restaurants! And if you're there between noon and 3 pm on many days, stop in to the Saks Fifth Avenue bar/restaurant and enjoy a drink or meal while listening to the super talented and friendly Michaelangelo, the piano player!

Hiking and Biking Trails
If you love to hike, just walk north on Wilcrest Drive for a few blocks to the Buffalo Bayou Bike Trail. It's a very nice, popular place for locals to ride their bikes and hike along the Buffalo Bayou. Or you can do what we do - rather than hike on the paved Bike trail running along the north side of the Buffalo Bayou, hike the dirt trails on the south side of the Bayou, known as the anthills. Beware of all of the mountain bikers though, and you will periodically see a snake, some of which are venomous! We've spent many hours hiking the anthills, and love them!
