This gem is situated right in the heart of the Bishop Arts District. Get a sidewalk table and watch the world go by! They have a huge selection of craft beers, and their woodfired pizza is not to be missed!

Nova is catty-corner to the Kessler Theatre, and is truly the ultimate melting pot of the neighborhood. On any given night you will see the entire diversity of Oak Cliff-ites! The food is great, as is the bar, and the best part is they are open late every night, usually until 2 AM!

Stock and Barrel is where I go when I want a nice meal out. It’s definitely still casual, but the food is next level! They serve brunch on Sundays only, and my favorite is their fried spaghetti and meatballs. Chef John interpreted this dish from his Mom frying up leftover pasta for the family breakfast the next morning.

Norma’s is a local favorite, especially for breakfast, seven days a week. It is a short walk from Casa Verde, and is famous for their selection of pies.

There is a lot of Mexican food in the area, but I find this the most interesting and authentic. If you like chili relleno’s, be sure to order theirs! Fun fact: it occupies the very building where Mary Kay, of Mary Kay’s cosmetics, got her start!

It doesn’t look like much, but if you want a truly authentic Mexican breakfast, this is your place! They do all of the traditional favorites, as well as more standard breakfast fare.

The Texas Theater has notoriety, as it was the place that Lee Harvey Oswald hid after he shot JFK. Nowadays, they show classic films and stage other cultural events.
