Ian is a brilliant instructor. If you like outdoor pursuits then he will give you the best day! He does all sorts of things such as caving, climbing, abseiling and kayaking.
He provides all equipment and his expertise means you have a truly memorable time!

We are lucky to have a dry ski slope nearby! There is a slope for children and they can go down on a kind of little sledge!

This a really fun day (or few hours). They do a few different things there. I've had a go at the clay pigeon and rifle shooting.
Their cafe does good cakes too!

There are different events here throughout the year. Check their website. I've enjoyed agricultural shows, comedy performances and dance events here.

It's good to visit with kids. Or if you are a train enthusiast! There is a cafe there which I've heard is good but I haven't been yet?
You can hear the steam train from the house :)

Good for hacking while on holiday. You can have lessons here too. It is our closest stables but there are a few around that I haven't been to.

It's a good day out but I think you have to buy a £20 yearly membership. Obviously ok of you are local! The gardens are lovely and the food is delicious. They also do a home delivery food service for next day delivery if you order before 3pm.

Delicious food and good ambience. It has a lovely garden for a coctail on a summer evening.
It is fairly expensive but worth it in my opinion!

This is a pub where consistency and large portions are the name of the game! Always a good meal and reasonably priced. Best to book in advance.

The Oakhill is great for a drink or a meal. It is relaxed and quirky and always full.
They do fabulous pizzas and their desserts are amazing.
It isn't the cheapest but it is great food.

They do a fantastic breakfast. Lunches and Cakes are also good. They are not open in the evening. A cafe rather than restaurant. The Den is next to John Thorners which is a local butcher and farm shop.

Matt offers a daily dish with a choice of starters and deserts. He has converted his living room in to a very quirky and very successful restaurant. Its BYO alcohol with corkage. The food is high quality. The experience is very personal and unusual.

The food here is great. Especially the Sunday lunch. It's about 20 mins to drive but well worth it. They do roasted onions and cauliflower cheese with a roast.
The steaks are also good here.

Fairly open plan and modern fits in to an old chapel. Fantastic pizza.
They also do delicious almond croissants. There is a bakery as you go in from the high street. Well worth stocking up.

The hive is a knitting shop which has a cafe. It's a favourite with the locals and they do fabulous cakes and cream teas as well as breakfast and lunch.
