These are a few of our neighborhood dining favorites.
It's an intimate (a la small Italian neighborhood style place), family owned, very seasonal and fresh menu, with an excellent staff, top notch wine list, and they can make a good cocktail as well. The food has always been outstanding, and when either of us want to celebrate or just have a nice meal we choose to go there over making the trek downtown or to any of the other neighborhoods. Reservations are recommended.

Not just a spot for Belgian Beer, the mussels and frites here are as good as anything (if not better) than any we've ever had in Belgium or France. All the food is excellent (the Neuske Ham Sandwich & Brisket Sandwich & House Made Frites are next level special) and there are typically some amazing dinner specials. No reservations accepted.

The Argyle area is famous for its Asian (more specifically Vietnamese) cuisine, but most especially the myriad of Pho spots. This place is a family owned favorite for Pho and the generous bowls of Bun.

A very unique Thai "street food" spot, owned by some young and vibrant ex-Thai-pats. You'll find things on (and off) the menu you can't get at most American Thai restaurants, but they do a great job with the standard Pad Thai and Currys as well. Delivery is easy if you don't want to make the trek over there.

Family owned & operated Mexican restaurant that has a very well deserved Michelin Bib Gourmand. The kind of Mexican restaurant that serves dishes so well, you can usually only get food like this if you're friends with a culinarily talented Mexican grandma.

Unassuming walk-up counter service spot that's an absolute local favorite. Everything is scratch-made but the Lentil soup and falafel are a staple in our house.

A lesser traveled gem on the lakefront. A two mile walk from our property (or grab a Divvy rental bike over on Broadway) and check out this quiet section of lakefront park. Fantastic views of downtown and you can watch the boats come & go from Montrose Harbor on the other side of the peninsula.

The basement has different booths with consignment items running the gamut of antique and vintage favorites. We stop here often to see what's new and have bought many items from them over the years.
