The falls are 2 hours from the cabin but are on the route from Seattle if you drive I-90. Hydropower has a long history in WA and as of 2018 represents almost 80% of WA electricity generation. Take this pit stop and check out one of the first hydroelectric plants in the country. Eat lunch at the lodge overlooking the falls!

This is a good medium intensity hiking that will get your heart rate (and appetite) up. Only about 15 min away, this trail starts on private property and leads to national forest land. Sign the logbook at the end and look out for geocaches at the top.
