Sunscreen and repellent is useful. As is a hat and long sleeved cover up for the sun. Don’t forget a water bottle you will need to drink more water.

We are in the tropics with insects, birds and wild life around. Gekkos are a fact of life, they keep other insects at bay but can be messy! You will find an occasional python around about. There is a snake catcher to call to remove it but they are harmless. If there are too many insects at any time switch the light on outside the kitchen window and the kitchen light off. You may be lucky to see the rare Cassowary on the beach but please don’t feed it. Many birds, green frogs, curlews, sun birds and butterflies live in our garden, treat them kindly please.

Cool summer cotton clothes ( most of the year) , a hat, sunnies, swimmers, good walking shoes, a light long sleeve cotton shirt to ward off the sun and a jumper for our few days of winter in July /August .

Take a hat, light long sleeved shirt/ cover up for the sun and water bottle when on foot.
