A three minute walk gives you access to the Bakerloo Line which will speed you to Oxford Street, Baker Street etc. in about 10 minutes.

It's not cheap but they do serve some great food and their breads and cakes are outstanding.

Ok its not local, but this pub houses a brand new 7 nights a week comedy club run by my daughter, if you're a comedy fan, she'll be pleased to tell you all about her up and coming gigs.
