Bear Mountain Golf Resort and Spa is only a 5 minute drive away and aside from having the only 2 Jack Nicklaus designed 18 hole golf courses in Canada, they are also home to the Canadian National Mountain Bike team. You can rent bikes and try out a variety of trails then soothe the soreness at the Sante Spa and then enjoy dinner at any of their restaurants for a truly memorable day.

Hike to the top of this ‘hill’ for incredible 360 degree views of Victoria, Sooke, Westshore and Bear Mountain. Great place for a picnic and only 5 minute drive from our place.

This ‘hill’ takes approx 40 minutes to climb but the views are amazing. We frequently take our pet pig Penny on picnics here.

Thetis Lake is a great spot to relax on the beach, swim, hike/jog the numerous trails or borrow our kayaks and go for scenic paddle from Upper Thetis to Lower Thetis lakes. Trout fishing is also pretty good here both from shore or kayak.
