Hire some share bikes around Melbourne City and ride around the bay to St Kilda for a spot of brunch. Most of Melbourne City has good bike paths and is flat so it's great to do a bit of exercise at a small cost of renting a bike and have a great view of the bay.

Rather than travelling to Philip Island to see the penguins native to Victoria, you can see them at St Kilda Pier rocks at the end of the Pier just as the sun goes down and then are returning from a day of fishing.
