A bare marble hill across from the entrance to the Acropolis with beautiful views of the city. In classical times, it functioned as the court for trying criminal and civil cases.
Please note: Its ancient marble steps can be slippery, especially in the rain.

Lively Monasteraki is known for its small shops selling traditional products, iconic landmarks including the ruins of Hadrian’s Library, the Ancient Agora and the rebuilt Stoa of Attalos and the Monastiraki Flea Market. The surrounding streets are crammed with traditional tavernas and restaurants, many with Acropolis views. It is located next to Plaka, Thiseio and the Ermou shopping strip.
