Drive the trail/road to get to this look out for panoramic views. The damage from the forest fire several years ago is still very evident.

Less than 45 minutes from Ruidoso (15 min. From Capitan) is Lincoln NM. This is the place where Billy the Kids was held in jail until he escaped. The old buildings from the 1800s are still there with a museum.

A National Park like no other. The huge expanse of soft white sand looks more like a moonscape. You can take a sled/dish and slide down the dunes. Located in Alamogordo about an hour from Ruidoso.
