Hipsters moved into this Toronto institution, but treated it with the upmost respect. The menu is still filled with diner classics and the decor had a facelift, but maintained all it's charm. This is a great family friendly meal spot. Affordable and yummy.

Fairly decent Thai food. Not the place for an epic food experience, but it's good, close & cheap. They deliver, but it's only a couple blocks from our house, so easy pick-up.

This Gaudi inspired bar/restaurant is a favourite downtown spot. Have some Cava while devouring the tapas. This place was opened by the owners of Bar Isbel.. we have yet to try this restaurant, but it's been on every best of list for years. Either spot will not disappoint.

Getting Around
This is the subway station closest to our house. You can either walk south down Perth, turn right onto Wallace, walk over the foot bridge, head south of Dudas West & you'll see it on the west side of the street OR head north on Perth, turn right (east) onto Antler & you see a bus stop at Symington and Antler, take the streetcar south & it will drop you at the Dundas. West station.
If you hop on the Bloor line heading East at the Dundas West Station it will take you downtown. From there you can get on a southbound line that will take you to the heart of the city.
You can also take streetcars to get around, ubers or cabs

Amazing place to bring your kids. Several floors of artifacts from around the world. Kids level is filled with dinosaurs, mammals and reptiles- they'll love the bat cave! The building is a work of art in and of itself.
