Friendly warm welcome, great pub grub locally sourced. In the Winter a roaring fire and great atmosphere, can be quite loud. Probably not so family friendly in the evenings but great for a Sunday lunch.

A great local pub out on the marsh with two bars, one with a large open fire and the other with a woodburner. Good honest pub grub and local ales. Large pub garden and always a warm welcome. Only a short drive from Rye.

Great starting place to understand the history of the medieval town. Visit the sound and light show and see the town come to live with the 'Town Model'. Enjoy playing the vintage pier arcade machines with original 1D coinage and enjoy local art works & items displayed around the centre.

A striking landmark that can be seen from below a reminder of Rye's historical past. Worth a visit and great to visit during a ghost tour if you are feeling brave enough on a dark night.

Shallow waters when the tide retreats leaving pools for young children to enjoy. Please note if visiting with the family dog that restrictions are in place from April to October and certain areas dogs are not allowed.

Locals like to swim from the beach as much quieter than the other beaches and free parking in the car park close to the reserve. The new discovery centre and cafe is due to open soon and will add to the enjoyment of a visit.
For those that like a quieter beach with rock pools for the children at low tide and fossil hunting amongst the pebbles and near to the cliffs at Fairlight. Free road parking and no public facilities but a firm favourite with locals.

If you walk along Mermaid Street it is like stepping back in time along the cobbled road. History to be soaked up and enjoyed, pretty houses to be envied and lots of the traditional quirks that come with such a quintessentially English seaside town.
